Jim Conover was a police officer for twenty years. During the latter part of his career, Jim and his bothers opened a private detective agency and he spent fifteen years working as a private detective. In 1987, while still a police officer, Jim started writing. Jim wrote and directed the feature film, THE SHOWDOWN.

William Homel
William Homel is a retired power plant engineer who has been active with community theatre, storytelling, photography, ghost hunting and movie making. He was a co-star and the production manager for the Western movie The Showdown. He is an investigator and camera operator on a team of paranormal investigators. He was production manager on the TV pilot film titled Haunted No More. William co-authored with Conover the screenplay Bass Reeves: Deputy U.S. Marshal.
